Is there a possiblity that Aion Online will become number 1? To be honest, i have a feeling this game will hit the top 5 MMORPG's in 2008-09 and will most likely climb through to 2010 and over.
There's way too many stereo typical people judging Aion just because it's made by Koreans. I'm pretty sure after many successful MMO's lately, the whole grinding era is about to vanish. I watched several developer interviews for Aion Gold today and it appears Ken Choi knows what he's doing.
There will be quests in the game, there will be dungeons/instances and there will be mass world PvP constantly going on inside the Abyss (RvR, look it up)
Another interesting thing which most MMO's lack are cut scenes. As you progress throughout the quests/levels there will be cut scenes that will involve you within the story. (think FFXI)
Like i said, i think this will be a successful game, it's something Studio 5 - NC Soft are taking very seriously. Give it a chance eh? watch some videos before you judge it. The gameplay itself looks amazing and i don't even need to mention the graphics.
For those worried their PC's won't be able to run it.. don't forget NC Soft are really good at optimizing video games to run smooth for even the weaker PC's so i wouldn't worry too much.
